Neptune returns to Pisces on October 22 (a Wednesday). It will remain there, the entire time in the 29th degree, until January 26, 2026. So it will be there for just over three months before beginning (in a more committed fashion) a new journey around the zodiac.
Neptune moves slowly, a total orbit of around 165 years, so these shifts are major.
So what does this shift mean? It does not, unfortunately, mean that all your problems will be solved. I know that’s why we all read astrology news, right? We want all our problems solved…
Neptune is the planet of fantasy, so it is liable to give us that vision or belief that we have finally “figured it out”. Or it’s likely to give us the dream that distracts us from any problems. But Neptune also pulls the veil away.
Being Neptune’s final stint in a sign that he’s been in for many years, this 3 month period is likely to bring about clarity in a certain area of life. It may not be a pleasant clarity. It may be that this area of life has been totally dissolved. But in any case we should not have any fantasy or confusion in that area of life. At least we should have much less than we had before.
On the other hand, it may be a very pleasant, still, and sober clarity that we receive.
It’s worth pointing out that this brief return to Pisces before committing to Aries for several years is also leading up to the Neptune-Saturn conjunction, in 0 degrees of Aries, on February 20, 2026. This is one of the astrological moments of the decade. It may be the single most important moment of the decade. Not only is it a rare conjunction but it is at the very first degree of the zodiac.
It speaks to new beginnings in a profound way.
So with that in mind, this Neptune return is really about finding our “spritual bearings”, finding a stable source of spiritual nourishment to prepare and begin for a new era.
If you have struggled with self-acceptance (haven’t we all), if you have unprocessed grief, if you have any hesitations in your faith—that you are here for a reason and can be guided and supported by forces beyond yourself, the next few months are a wonderful opportunity to invite healing and new experiences in.
It is a great time to let whatever needs to flow flow…
But also pay attention to what we might call “reality”. Are your dreams supporting your reality? Is your reality becoming more magical over time, or is your dream life always a compensation to take you away from an ugly reality?
No reality is unbearable if we invite in Acceptance. (I put that with a capital A because acceptance is powerful, and it is only us that blocks it.) But until we get our reality and dreams on the same page, working together in some shape or form, we’ll have a lot of undue suffering. Not only that but we’ll have to push away all the joys that reality offers.
Reality is a Saturnian thing. Dreams a Neptunian thing.
The conjunction in February could be an opportunity to allow these to come together in a beautiful way. We could get some clarity on where we are going perhaps for the rest of our lives. But that is probably only the case if these are already on the same page or working together.
Otherwise Saturn conjunct Neptune can either mean a harsh wake-up call (Saturnian reality striking down our Neptunian fantasy). Or it could mean our whole reality (what we have thought is our reality) being dissolved.
Frankly, for most people it will be one of these, or it may mean them falling into mass movements, war drums, etc. But for you I hope it need not mean any of these!
There is no limit to the guidance and protection we can receive if we open to it. The more connected we become, the more we’ll realize that nothing is random. The more disconnected we remain, the more likely we are to end up as a statistic.
The world is going to become much uglier in many ways in the coming years and decades. If you think it’s chaotic now, you have no idea. And yet, this chaos will be equalled, even dwarfed, by the powers of love and healing that will spread at this time.
There are two fountains you can drink from: one that appears tasty but is filled with toxins, another that seems, at first glance, a bit plain but has many hidden layers and will actually nourish your body and soul. Which fountain will you choose? That is what Neptune (and Saturn) are asking.
