February is an eventful month! We start with a Leo Full Moon—this Full Moon invites us to ask: what audience is receptive to who I am and what I have to say? And what audiences do I want to be a part of? We don’t have to mesh with everyone, only the ones that matter to us, and if we’re not meshing, maybe we can find other, more enriching environments.
Later with the Aquarius New Moon, we start the Chinese New Year—Year of the Horse—and this first New Moon is in fact a solar eclipse! So expect a year of more change and more unexpected developments. This eclipse invites us to go outside our comfort zones and become more who we are. Since Uranus in Taurus squares the eclipse, either we decide to go outside our comfort zones or we might be thrown out! Our choice.
And the most important event of the month is the Saturn-Neptune conjunction on Feb 20. This conjunction occurs only once every 36 years. So it rare, and in astrology, what is rare tends to be what is impactful. Not only do we have this conjunction but it occurs at 0 degrees of Aries, the beginning of the zodiac! So new beginnings are being called in. We are moving, gradually or suddenly, from the Piscean focus on purification and surrender to an Aries focus on inspired action. Are my dreams (Neptune) and realities (Saturn) aligned, or is some adjustment needed to bring them together? How can we focus on independence and self-sufficiency and avoid getting entangled into needless conflict? How can we do the work, the long, steady work (Saturn) that is needed to bring our dreams (Neptune) to life?
All of these questions come to mind with the astro events this month. Although this conjunction occurs only once, we are entering a new era as Neptune will be in Aries for the next 13 or so years! Saturn will be in Aries for the next 2 and a half years.
I hope you all enjoyed or made it through the recent transits to Pluto in Aquarius. Aquarius, this month’s sun sign until we shift to Pisces on Feb 18, is all about the future. And these Pluto transits helped us to release and recycle what no longer fits in ours or society’s future. So if you felt some turmoil, it might have been related to that! Happy February!
P.S. There is a lot more to say about all this, and especially about the Saturn-Neptune conjunction. I am still contemplating it and as I experience the early Neptune-in-Aries energy, some stories are emerging. But wherever Neptune is, there is mystery; that mystery is a part of what makes this time interesting. In any case, though, I will post more before then. Au revoir.
