I am feeling the call to write more astro news. I previously started an astrology blog, and perhaps I will continue to write there. I also write occasionally for my community or my workplace, and I am not so concerned (any more) with creating some kind of great monolith. I am more willing to be in creative flow. Just share what is with me or on my mind. Not try particularly hard to make it polished.

Easy come, easy go. The creative juices will always flow.

Also, speaking of this desire to write astro news, I am following the idea that if you complain about something long enough, you should probably try to fix it. (Or at least do a small part in making it better.)

I have complained about the news a lot, and to me of course, it is for good reason.

The Main Problem with News

There are many problems with the news. If we’re talking about the mainstream news, then this might be obvious. It is a massive brainwashing machine. Everyone knows this. Even the people who consume it will admit it, though they continue to be brainwashed, claiming that they have the ability to “not believe what they hear”. Why do they listen or watch the news though? What do they get from it?

The main thing that people get from the news is a feeling of connection, that they are part of a greater whole, and that this greater whole is addressing important concerns. People also get a sense that they are contributing, even if the only way they are contributing is by hearing what they hear, and then going out and repeating it to others.

Actually none of this is really “bad”. This is only natural. Every society, time, place has a need for news. In ancient times every society traded with their neighbors or had some interaction with their neighbors. Some people were motivated to venture out, integrate and mingle with these neighbors, learn from them and bring back stories. Others may have just been venturing into the woods or waters and bringing back news of the weather and wildlife there, what kinds of shifts they were observing. Is it a good season for fishing, for growing? Is it going to be a tough year? 

I reckon also that every ancient society was looking to the stars and seasons for guidance, news, and forecasting too.

Actually this brainwashing that I was referring to is the present society operating as intended. It is just that the present society, governments, economy, in their most prevailing forms, depend and exist on lies.

The Main Problem with Astro News

When you get into metaphysical spaces, the situation may be a little better. It is no CNN or Fox News. It probably has more depth. And yet in my experience they suffer from similar issues.

The problem is that people are still integrated into the predominant society, let’s just say America since that is where I live. Their identities are still tied to it. They still may well consume the regular news. And so a lot of what is said and shared is related to the idea that what we need to do and believe is what is needed for America to be successful, or to survive. 

I have less experience with news outlets elsewhere in the world.  But there I would imagine people speak to what is needed for those governments or industrial economies to be successful or survive.

This Website

This website is based on the premise that the predominant societies today are already the “old world”. They are already crumbling. They are beyond repair, and it is only a matter of time, a time much shorter than many of us may realize, before they are completely gone. 

Of course, nothing just disappears, and nothing comes from nothing. It is always transition, building the new from the old, etc. But we are undergoing major transition. 

This may sound frightening because it calls for personal change, personal transformation, personal adaptation. But I can assure you, from experience, that there is a way to reach a place of peace and confidence in the changing world. (It is even possible to do that without spiritual bypassing.)

I still worry about the future. I still wonder about it. One thing I can say is that I really have no idea what the future holds. But at the same time, I feel that I have enough pieces of information, truth, and self-knowing to be confident that all will be well, or all will be exactly as it must be and is intended to be.

If we really face our fears and do what we can about them. In other words, if we work on ourselves more than trying to change others, then we will follow a natural transition into the future. We will be shifting with it. We are not going to wake up one day and have everything completely and suddenly change with total surprise. We will make our way there, and when any circumstances change, we’ll be ready and we’ll be supported and in community.

But again this requires honesty, intention, responsibility, self-control, discipline, faith. It requires love and open-mindedness.

Going Forward

Not every post will be “heavy”. But our foundations need to be solid before we can talk lightly. Otherwise our lightness is just a distraction.

My understanding of this global transformation is based on astrology. It’s all a part of natural, predictable cycles. Much of the knowledge of these cycles has been lost or distorted. Furthermore we need to tap into our intuition, as well as our common sense, to really know, admit, or choose what is true with regards to these cycles. But I have no intention of trying to “prove” anything to you, or to press my personal beliefs.

This is just one website floating around the internet. Anyone that comes here or stumbles upon this place has full freedom to come and go, to ignore anything and everything that is said here. For me though, I have my beliefs and understanding, which I take as self-evident. The same way for some it is just an obvious truth that we need to do what is best or right for America. For me, it is an obvious truth that America will be completely gone before long, and that we need to be building, intending, manifesting the post-America and post-industrial world.

A lot of this is just ideas, but it is also very real for me, and I put in the legwork in my own life. It means healing and transformation, facing pain and difficulty. It means finding my unique place. It means getting more in touch with the land, building the skills or at least the willingness to live more naturally and sustainably. To get my hands dirty. It means finding our community, which will in many cases become the future societies, tribes, that will replace the centralized governments and corporations of today.

It means, above all, following our truth, our path in life. It means letting life lead us, rather than us trying to control life.

That is all I will say for this post, but I will elaborate on this in subsequent posts. I will lay some foundations so that eventually we can get to some normal, occasionally light-hearted astro news.
