Here in about 5 or so days, I plan to quit my corporate job, leave it all behind! I know that life will not be easier after this switch, but I will appreciate not having to enter and exit this other world of information and pettiness that no longer serves my purpose in this world. Fortunately this last job has been remote and been pretty flexible, otherwise I would not have been able to survive. But I did, and I gained a lot, money and self-knowledge-wise.

It’s time to move on and this time I know I will not be coming back to that industry.

“So what’s next?” Naturally people ask that. I don’t mind that question. I’ve spent so much time in between jobs, so much time not knowing what was next, that I am not shy to hear this any more. Also for once in my life, I do, at least broadly know what’s next. I’ll be doing astrology full time.

Now what exactly that will look like. How the opportunities will arise and in what ways, that I do not know.

It’s easy to have this picture of an office, an endless stream of clients coming in, me dazzling them and them leaving with a smile on their face. (This might not be anyone’s picture, but I’m making a point…) Another assumption might be this perfect separation between clients and the rest of life. But in any case, life is not so simple, and it would be awfully boring if it were!

The Struggles of Switching Work (and of Working for Oneself)

I have not figured this out. I’m new to it. But at least at this moment I am not worried. I see on the horizon Saturn conjuncting my Venus, which among other things, I immediately saw as financial discipline. Meanwhile I see other positive signs and I know in myself that I’m aligned and on the right track. (The only thing I need to learn is to not be impatient!)

I see many people in my community that are making similar pivots. And always the same issues come up:

  1. Am I ready yet?
  2. What if it doesn’t work out?
  3. Am I good enough?
  4. Will I make enough money?
  5. How will I find clients? Or how will clients find me?

Now let me start by saying that it is definitely possible to not be ready. Before my current job, I made a go at doing astrology full-time and my attempts floundered. I was not ready. But at the same time, that go did not really cost me much. It might have been a little embarrassing in certain ways, but embarrassment is just a part of my life…

(It should be noted that the 10th House, just as much as it is the House of Public Honors, as it is often touted, is also the house of Public Embarrassment. But embarrassment can be very helpful!)

In any case it is just about inner knowing and inner inspiration. Inner knowing and inner inspiration does not guarantee that outcomes will be flawless or that we will not have to pivot again. It just means that at this time, it is the right move.

If you struggle with decision-making, I would encourage you to look into Human Design (specifically your Type and Authority), since that gives a useful prescription for how to make decisions. I assume most of my audience has heard of Human Design, but if not, it is an eclectic and really magical branch of astrology that was channeled in 1987. (So it is relatively new and people are just beginning to explore it.)

In my case, I have Emotional Authority, so the key is to wait a few or several days to make a decision. This is because it’s possible that my “inspiration” was not really right, or was not coming from a centered place. It could’ve come from an emotional high that may crash the next day, or from an emotional low that may rise the next day. If it stays for several days and as emotional waves flow, then it’s coming from a centered place.

For other authorities, like Sacral, you’re encouraged to trust always that initial gut (sacral) response of yes or no.

It is a little confusing, Human Design, because we do have to make many decisions throughout our lives and days. We may not always have time to wait for an emotional wave. For example, if I always waited multiple days to decide what to eat, I would not be eating enough! We may also have multiple decision-making centers activated. But the system of Human Design is supposed to refer to the most important decisions.

It’s up to you what falls in that category. These systems may provide advice on how to live, but ultimately it is you who is receiving and working with that advice.

What is Changing with You?

I don’t really have much else to say. If you’re interested in an astrology reading/consultation, feel free to book a session. Actually I got clarity on this date I plan to quit my corporate job thanks to an astrology session with Laura Bruno. (She has a nice blog also.)

Even astrologers need astrologers!

I offer tarot readings too. I recently got a new deck, the Psychic Tarot. It’s pretty simple and straightforward, but I like it. In any case, feel free to reach out. ✌️
